FUNCTIONABLE GAMES YOU CAN DOWNLOAD FOR FREE (PART 4)

This is fourth part of my colloction. It is getting harder and harder to find functionable games; games you can play at MikroMikko Indiana (1995) with Windows 3.1 and IBM ThinkCentre s50 (2004) with Windows XP.

For backround information, please check part 1 and 2 and 3.

LOCK AND CHASE

PacMan Clone, but only FOUR kilobytes! I could not believe that it is possible to create so short game, perhaps for Commodore Vic-20 or Sinclair ZX-81 but not for PC. (It is Freeware; I wonder what for.)

TEXT MISSILE COMMAND

Another game from stone age. But this time it is SEVENTY kilobytes long! International Soccer (Commodore 64) was about 16 KB and Jetset Willy II (Sinclair ZX Spectrum) 48 KB. Visitors gave it four stars. I will give one.

VECTOROIDS

An Asteroid-Clone. Simple but functionable. Finnish names at the High-Srore list.

SPEED-KAR

One of the best games in my collection. Idea has been copied from Radar Rat Race (Commodore Vic-20 & Commodore 64). Perhaps the best Cartridge game Commodore has ever published but it was still the year 1981/1982. So much progress!

Size: 1,034 KB. Original Radar Rat Race: About 16 KB. Still both are as good, or maybe Speed-Kar is a little better.

It is a Shareware. I don't know how many levels you can play before the end.

For comparison: Radar Rat Race (Commodore Vic-20)

ROXX

Asteroids-Clone. Shareware-version, could mean you can play only few levels. Thus, I gave two or five stars, depending how it is.

STALACTITES

Early PLMB game from 1995. Score depends on how long you can stand without dying. You can prevent stalactites growing by keeping the bat below. Don't touch the balls. Shareware-version, I dont know if there is a limit for how many levels you can play.

PLBM PONG-OUT

This "collection" consista of two games: Original 1972 Pong and 1978 Breakout. Pong is terrible, Breakout is actually pretty comfortable to play. You can steer the bat with arrow keys. It'a amazing how could they spend 273 KB for these two simply game. Shareware.

CRAWLY-PEDE

An excellent Centipede-clone. Full version. That's the reason for giving five stars.

MICROPEDE

Centipede-Clone with mouse.

FROG MAN

Clone from 1970's. Still pretty good. Shareware, limited levels.

SWAP

Hard to describe this game. Try to get colors to match.
